In DeFi Kingdoms, the Gardens is a place for staking liquidity provider tokens for receiving JEWEL tokens at its core. In the game, the traders gain JEWEL tokens for rare NFTs and other items simply by staking the liquidity pool tokens. It's a powerful part of  the game. The platform added a bit of swords and sorcery to this fantasy kingdom and introduced one-of-a-kind pixel heroes in the marketplace. In the world map of the DeFi Kingdom, there is a limited supply of plots of land available for trade. The traders claim a plot of land for themselves and build their kingdom up, investing in upgrades that deliver with the upkeep of resources. The land houses the developing kingdom and is distinctly visible on the world map to everyone.

JEWEL is a governance token used to purchase valuable items and distinctive NFTs such as Kingdoms and Heroes in the game and different in-game buffs such as refreshing stamina and speeding up build times. The token used for in-game items and the NFTs is claimed to be used in liquidity mining, allowing traders to earn more via staking. The holders are also claimed to have a say in the evolution and growth of the project.

The DeFi Kingdoms platform formed its community in August 2021. At the same time, the platform launched a game interface and the Capital City map, including a functional bank, gardens, marketplace, and buildings for the future Hero Tavern, real estate office, and summoning portal.
